Technical SEO foundation
Technical SEO foundation is the part of search work that decides whether a page can be fetched, rendered, recognised as unique and stored in a search index at all. When this layer fails, content and links cannot make the page appear, because the search engine never kept it.
Specification
- Input
- Crawl access to the site, Search Console data, and server or CDN logs where you have them.
- Method
- We crawl the site the way a search engine does, compare what we find with what Search Console reports as indexed, and trace each gap back to a template, a configuration setting or a server response.
- Deliverable
- Crawl and index audit: a ranked register of issues, each with its cause, the pages affected and the fix.
- Measured by
- The share of submitted URLs that Search Console reports as indexed, and Core Web Vitals against the "good" thresholds Google publishes on web.dev (industry benchmark: LCP 2.5 seconds or less, INP 200 milliseconds or less, CLS 0.1 or less).

A question people ask about this
- Does the audit change anything on the live site?
- No. The audit only reads the site and its server logs. Fixes come afterwards as separate, reviewed changes that you approve one by one.
